About Me

Data Science & AI

I have been working extensively as a Data Scientist since 2017. My reponsibilities vary widely from creating AI-powered products such as chatbots, recommendation systems, Natural Language Processing, Time Series and Machine Learning models. I also took on many tasks to deploy and schedule my models to run the cloud for the customers. In a short period of time, I have grown to be able to share the responsibilities of my Data Scientist colleagues that I had the privilege to work with, who had 20+ years of experience in the field. I have learned how to handle all the tasks they do effectively and earned the skills to become a Senior Data Scientists myself.

• DATA SCIENTIST - Change Healthcare (2019-2020)
  I worked here for a year and a half as a lead Data Scientist until my company's budget was hit by COVID-19. I was leading the team on building and deploying a customer Chatbot on the company's Tibco Spotfire dashboard to interact with our customers. This project gained lots of traction and attention from our customers. Unfortunately, a change in management within the company forced the project to scale back. I also led other projects including
  • Recommendation System for our customers to make use of under-utilized medical network connections
  • NLP models to classify and cluster topics from the company's internal chatroom to help the leadships understand more about their employee's concerns.
  • Machine Learning model to help identify opportunities that were likely to close to help the Sales department gain insights of their data to take appropriate actions. The model attained more than 85% accuracy.
  • Time Series model to predcit the volume of medical claims from the company's network. The benefit of this models was to help the claim-processing team to optimized their daily task for maximum efficiency. The model attained about 97% accuracy

• DATA SCIENCE FELLOW - Galvanize (2016)
  I firt committed to pursue my career in Data Science after gradudating by joining on of the best Data Science Immersive program at Galvanize, San Francisco. I started from knowing litte to becoming proficient in most of the state-of-the-art technologies in the field. From this program, I gained lots of knowledge on theories and real-world applications of Machine Learning, data analysis and visualization.

Teaching

I have been an educator since I was in college. Starting from a student tutor, I worked as a Math instructor at several colleges. At this time, I'm spending my evenings teaching Python programming, Statistics and Data Science.

Programming

I studied programming mostly from the internet on my own. During the Data Science program, I learned more about Python and its libraries. I am also picking up other languages and applying them for my different fun projects, including data analyzing, data modeling, games and many more.
